Michael Butler

Managing Director

Michael Butler is a serial entrepreneur, with a background in marketing, advertising and financial markets.
He started life as a commodities trader on the London Fox, before moving into marketing roles in Australia. Since then he has worked on significant brands including the iconic World Vision Child Sponsorship during the late ’90s when the brand saw stellar growth, Canon business, Suncorp and many others.

As a GM, he also managed a sales team for one of the leading music businesses. He was a partner in the largest independent agency in New Zealand that saw the business grow 300% in 3 years. Michael founded Guide Dogs Pet Insurance and Philantropia Fund, both of which continue to give back to both investors and the community. His specialty is growing businesses through a combination of relevant marketing and driven sales.

Michael continues to skateboard with his children and is the Founder of Marketing Director Centre.

Greg Lowe

CMO, Sydney

Greg has over 30 years’ hands on marketing experience working for some of Australia’s largest Blue Chip Multinationals and their core brands, including Ford Australia, Cadbury Schweppes, Lane Hardware, Kimberly Clark & The Boots Company.
In the more recent past Greg has used that experience to good effect running a successful business development and marketing company where the focus has been on new product and new category development, in almost all types of industries, in both the USA and Australia. This includes business model development in many categories.

He has negotiated positions and established sales channels and distribution for clients with some of Australia’s leading retailers and commercial / industrial distributors which is also a core part of being a marketing director. Greg's approach is to get to grips with the core client issues early on, and work through some of the basics with the exec team and business owners. This includes proper profiling of segments in the market, development of a succinct yet relevant marketing strategy, which leads to delivery of relevant tactics. Greg has experience in all marketing disciplines, from concept right through to final executions and monitoring measurement of those executions.

Gavin Altus

Ian Blackhall

Tony Collett

Regional Director, Newcastle

Tony has 30 years’ experience in managing or facilitating the design and execution of business and functional strategies. His expertise and passion is marketing, sales and efficient service delivery.
His work is focused on organic growth for organisations in a number of industries including resources, manufacturing, transport & logistics, FMCG and telecommunications; mainly throughout Australia but also in New Zealand, SE Asia and Sub-Sahara Africa. The common theme is that the leaders have a desire to articulate their vision, achieve strategic objectives and to ensure that their organisation is (and is believed by customers to be) providing a competitive advantage.

Rachel Audige

Marketing Director, Melbourne

Rachel brings 25+ years of international experience in marketing, communications, brand journalism and innovation working in multinational agency and corporate roles including Publicis and Bayer. She has her own BrandExpansion & Inventive Thinking practice since 2015 and partners with Strategic Specialists.

Rachel is driven by a love for strategic & creative thinking and a belief that there is no such thing as a ``me too``; it is always possible to carve out a unique brand territory and a clear value proposition. She is a challenger and a dot joiner. Anne McGlinchey

Marketing Director, Sydney

Anne has over 25 years marketing & sales experience working with both privately owned and multinational corporations in FMCG with extensive experience in retail, franchising and manufacturing. Anne has been instrumental in creating and launching new successful brands to market.
Her expertise is repositioning and driving brand awareness and enhancing the retail experience.She was responsible for the development and launch of the first ever Lindt Chocolate Café in the world, establishing a successful $30 million business with a stable of 12 stores in Australia and internationally.

She has held a number of senior management positions leading teams to manage the business through the numbers with a focus on measuring, benchmarking and reporting. She has extensive experience in all facets of business including operations, finance, marketing, social media, franchising, account management, human resources and supply chain management. Working in store development she has been instrumental in site selection, lease negotiation and store design and fitout.

Having spent the majority of her time in retail Anne is passionate about customer service and exceeding customer expectations. She researches what the brand means to the customer and builds awareness around an agreed concept. She believes that all brands need to carve out their niche and be consistent in communicating their message.

Beate Duesterwald

Marketing Director, Sydney

Beate has over 18 years experience in helping clients to translate their business objectives into compelling digital marketing strategies.
During her career in Europe and Australia she established her own digital agency in 1996, merged the agency with a large e-Business consultancy and worked in various senior management roles in large and smaller digital agencies. She has worked with well-known brands including TNT, Volvo and Schering Pharmaceuticals in Europe.

Since migrating to Australia in 2002 she worked with GlaxoSmithKline, Macquarie University, Australian Health Management (ahm), to name a few, on digital marketing and customer engagement programs including intranet developments. She also gained valuable experience in a corporate environment working at Rams and Westpac for nearly 5 years focusing on digital marketing & content strategy and managing a major website relaunch.

Her passion for customer engagement strategy, usability of digital channels and leveraging data to create positive customer experiences has generated many positive outcomes for her clients.

She completed a Foundation for Company Directors course from AICD at the beginning of 2014 and is enjoying her first Non-Executive Director role for a Not-for-Profit organisation in the Arts.

Chris Hartley

Rebekah Butler

Rebekah has spent most of her time working for retailers, magazines and fashion-based start-ups. Recently finishing her degree in Fashion-business and French, she has interned for David Jones, SCOUT and Vogue specialising in sustainability and trend forecasting.

Rebekah has helped 5+ young businesses get off the ground in the past three years through focussing on general management, goal-setting, marketing strategies, market research, creative direction and branding. She has also studied trend forecasting in London and recently worked for Australia's leading retail and apparel forecasting company, SCOUT, as a trend analyst.

Tracy Weller-McCormack

With more than 20 years of strategy and marketing experience in both the B2B and B2C space behind her, Tracy is assisting companies to get back to the basics. Tracy encourages teams to simplify their business models by focusing on the fundamental business principle of making sure the customer is the focal point of every business decision.

Tracy’s career has spanned both corporate and consultancy, having owned a small boutique-marketing agency called C4 Media Group in Canada, which she sold in 2006 to relocate to Australia and expand her experience.

Peter Karanicolas

Marketing Director, Melbourne

Peter has over a decade of marketing and sales experience at a senior level, and has worked in both the Australian and UK markets with multinational companies. He currently runs the successful Digital Property Group in Victoria, where he is a Director, as well as a Victoria principal for Marketing Director Centre.
As the previous (youngest) national marketing manager of Hamptons International one of the UK’s largest Real Estate businesses, and marketing manager of the London Portfolio – Land Securities the largest UK Commercial Property Developer, he has strong roots in one of the most competitive industries, in one of the most competitive markets. With a Bachelor in Business Marketing and Communications, and the ability to lead a team, Peter has a strong work ethic and well-rounded business acumen. He has consistently achieved extraordinary results against much older colleagues, and brings strong bridge of marketing and sales to Marketing Director Centre. Peter has also worked in health and ICT industries.

He always says that marketing is simply the act of connecting consumers with a product or service, and it’s a simple as that no matter what industry you are in. Ryan Bothma

Marketing and Tech Manager

Ryan Bothma is an experienced marketing professional and holds a Bachelor Degree's in Law and Commerce from Macquarie University. Rather than go into the legal industry, Ryan chose to pursue a career in marketing and business development.

He has worked in a range of startups (from freelance marketplace's to fintech's) helping them to get their marketing off the ground and increase initial growth. He has a passion for working in small businesses and enjoys the wide variety of experiences they provide. He's particularly interested in business and marketing strategy as well as hands-on implementation and loves to use computer programs to solve problems and automate business processes.

Ryan works closely with the Marketing Director to implement the strategic plan and manage the day-to-day marketing efforts. He is also responsible for integrating and optimising tech programs across all areas of the business.

Caroline Martinez

Marketing Assistant, Sydney

Caroline is experienced in Marketing, PR and fashion based retail. She has recently graduated from The University of NSW with a Bachelor’s degree in Media- Advertising and Public Relations. She has gained experienced through an internship for a Food, Beauty and Lifestyle agency called Polkadot Communications. In addition to this, she lead the PR and Marketing campaign for Fusion 16 Restaurant.

Tracey Thompson

Tracey is a seasoned, innovative and multi-skilled marketing Executive with an Economics
Degree and 20+ years’ experience in helping companies and organisations improve their

operational solutions.
With experience in both B2B and B2C marketing in the Telecommunications, Healthcare
and Information Services sectors, Tracey develops effective closed loop marketing

Rebecca Laskary

Marketing Director, Sydney

Rebecca is a high level mar-comms strategist, who is passionate about communications and marketing. She thrives on bringing strategies and solutions to businesses which are effective, measurable and which deliver bottom line results. She manages projects from concept through to completion working with agencies and teams to ensure that measurable results are achieved for the client.
Every year Rebecca researches global marketing strategies and evaluates their success in the Australian marketplace.

With a career spanning 3 continents and almost 20 years, Rebecca has worked in the media industry as a television presenter and journalist. Since arriving in Australia 17 years ago she has turned her attention to marketing and communications roles within the corporate sector.

Rebecca has been the Managing Director of Profile Public Relations. In that role she focused on managing the business and the Profile team. Additionally, she worked on marketing and communications strategies, public relations and brand management for clients.

Rebecca is the former Communications Manager of CPA Australia, the country’s largest accounting body. In that role she offered strategic advice on media and event management, marketing and public relations. She was involved in several projects including the publications review, website re-development, member communications review and corporate social responsibility. The overall result was a substantial increase in members during her tenure.

Rebecca’s experience puts her in an optimal position to consult to a very niche audience: financial services firms, yet she also has substantial product marketing experience too. She has authored several books, DVDs, white papers and published media articles on marketing topics for the financial services sector.

Lascean O’Keefe

Lascean has more than 15 years of experience in B2B and B2C marketing management roles with a strong focus on customer acquisition strategies, sales enablement and channel readiness, and marketing operations.
